Used for centuries as currency in Africa, cowrie shells are viewed as symbols of wealth and well being and are commonly used in jewelry and other oranaments or decorative pieces. They are also used during divination by casting them down and interpreting the patterns that result. Our cowries come in two different finish, white and natural. The small size are processed so they are backless for conveinency.
